Charles has over 25 years' experience in the field of industrial relations. He has worked with businesses in both legal and non-legal roles for a range of organisations such as industrial associations, government departments, consultancy firms and law firms. Some of his most prominent positions have been Legal Counsel for a peak Queensland medical body, Principal Employment Relations Advisor for a peak Queensland hospitality association, Principal Consultant for a national industrial relations/human resources consultancy firm and most recently Special Counsel for a prominent Queensland law firm. This broad experience has given him the ability to apply a practical approach to employment law.
His focus is to provide practical legal advice that aligns employment laws with business goals together with a strategic and cost-effective approach to the resolution of legal problems. He believes that understanding the law is just as important as understanding your business.
While Charles has practised in a wide range of industries, his main industry experience areas are hospitality, medical, schools and not-for-profit. He has also studied Australian archaeology and has knowledge and experience dealing with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander matters.
